The problem

UK tattoo studios must keep consent, age-verification, sterilisation and infection-control records under council byelaws, and many areas run a public Tattoo Hygiene Rating Scheme. Almost all of it was kept on paper - easy to lose, painful to produce when an Environmental Health Officer calls.

What we built

A mobile-first app that captures consent and medical history with a signature in under two minutes, enforces the under-18 hard-stop in code, logs sterilisation and waste, and exports a complete “inspection-ready pack” on demand. Free to start; a paid tier unlocks unlimited history and reminders.

Stack: Cloudflare Workers + D1, Stripe subscriptions, Resend email, vanilla-JS SPA.

The outcome

A live subscription product in a market with no incumbent, proving the model: turn an existing legal obligation that’s done on paper into software people will pay a monthly fee for peace of mind.

What this proves for your project

Regulated record-keeping is a strong wedge: the obligation already exists, so you sell relief from anxiety, not a new habit.

A section-agnostic data model let the same core be reused across several industries.

Free tier builds the habit; disappearing history converts to paid.
